English: A proposed Flag of Planet Earth presented in 2009. Note the difference with the Pride Flag: it has seven 7 colors, not 6, representing 7 traditional colors in Newton’s spectrum. While number 7 is a special number in human cultures, it also represents 7 continents and 7 seas. It is also a reference to the classic Peace Flag. The rainbow flag thus symbolizes diversity and peace between people all over the world. The color red is at the bottom. Visually, it represents the rainbow. It also represents earth’s structure upward, from the red inner core to the cold exosphere.

The colored stripes represent the layers of the Earth: red-nucleus, orange and yellow-mantle, green-crust, blue-atmosphere, violet stratosphere, indigo-exosphere, black-interplanetary medium. The Circles at the top represent (from left to right): Sun, Mercury, Venus, Moon(center), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
