El ileísmo (del latín: ille ‘él, eso’) es el acto de referirse a uno mismo en tercera persona en lugar de hacerlo en primera persona.[1] En ocasiones se utiliza en la literatura por motivos estéticos, siendo un recurso lingüístico que puede ser intencional o inconsciente. Su uso de la vida real, puede reflejar una serie de intenciones estilísticas distintas o circunstancias involuntarias, y tradicionalmente se asociaba a que el individuo podía padecer de un trastorno de identidad disociativo.[2]
Ejemplos
Hablar de uno mismo en tercera persona se define cómo referirse a sí mismo utilizando los pronombres él, ella, ellos y ellas, en sustitución de los pronombres de primera persona yo y nosotros.[3]
Literatura
A lo largo de la historia de la literatura este recurso ha sido utilizado en numerosas ocasiones, quizás las más representativas hayan sido:

Muchos personajes famosos utilizan esta forma de dirigirse a sí mismos, como por ejemplo:
- El artista Salvador Dalí durante su entrevista con Mike Wallace conocida como The Mike Wallace Interview, del 19 de abril de 1958.[11]
- El baloncestista Karl Malone hace referencia a sí mismo en numerosas ocasiones.[12]
- El futbolista Zlatan Ibrahimović en ocasiones ha hablado públicamente de esta manera.[13]
- La concursante de Gran Hermano España, Aída Nizar, también ha utilizado esta forma en numerosas apariciones públicas.[14]
- El actor Dwayne Johnson se refiere a sí mismo como «The Rock», sobrenombre que utilizó en su etapa como luchador profesional en WWE y sigue utilizando en la actualidad.[15]
- La actriz Gina Lollobrigida.[16][17][18][19]
- La actriz Hedy Lamarr.[20]
- La actriz Sylva Koscina.[21]
- El futbolista Diego Maradona, en ocasiones se nombra como «El Diego».[22]
- El entrenador de fútbol Lothar Matthäus, dijo la frase: «Un Lothar Matthäus no se deja golpear. Un Lothar Matthäus decide sobre su propio destino».[23]
- El futbolista Pelé también lo ha hecho en alguna ocasión.[24][25]
