Borrado de Artículos relacionados con la medicina
Hola, JenOttawa.
Cochrane-Wikipedia Project
Hello @Marcelo:, I would like to inquire how we can create a spanish language project page. it appears that my first attempt was not successful as it was not appropriate. I apologize for this error. Since this is a group of spanish speaking Wikipedia volunteers who are interested in improving medical articles, they requested that their project page be on Spanish Wikipedia. Unfortunately I do not speak spanish. I cannot even leave you a note on your talk page as I am not confirmed in spanish Wikipedia at this time. If you have any suggestions on how we can share this information it would be greatly appreciated. I am part of Wikimedia Medicine / WikiProject Medicine in english. Thank you for your time and assistance. Re:Cochrane-Wikipedia project in Spanish
Hello JenOttawa. Unfortunately, there aren't many editors working on medical content in Spanish as of today, but any help is appreciated. I'm not familiar with the collaboration between Cochrane and Wikipedia, just the bits I read at the project page. Since the group isn't experienced with editing, I'd suggest that they work with existing pages first, maybe adding references and writing small sections from Cochrane reviews and other reputable sources. Content from the WikiJournal of Medicine (https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/WikiJournal_of_Medicine) can also be very helpful in teaching editors the style guidelines and, moreover, as a source of freely-licensed material. Creating a new page from scratch can be tricky, I had to intervene because some of the translated guidelines got (mistakenly) flagged for speedy deletion. Nonetheless, I thank you for those translations, specific policies and guidelines are quite neglected and it may help to expand our manual of style in the future.
Apart from the Wikiproject talk, users can seek help at the "Village pump" (WP:C/A), our "adopt-a-user" program (PR:T), or, for simple doubts that can be answered in the moment, the IRC help channel (Canal de ayuda entrar).
By the way, is the group being paid by Cochrane? They should state in their user page their conflict of interest. Kind regards. -sasha- (discusión) 15:45 16 abr 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help and for sharing these links. I believe that the people helping are volunteers from Cochrane (I am a paid Wikipedian in Residence, however I also volunteer to improve english medical articles in my spare time. My role as a Wikipedian in residence is to help to provide resources if people are interested in starting their own project. I will suggest to the volunteers that they share their affiliations/disclose any COI on their user pages, I disclose this on my User page). It should be noted that the purpose of this project is not to edit (at all) about our organization, rather these are volunteer experts who act as knowledge translators to paraphrase and share Cochrane evidence (and other high quality secondary sources) in medical articles on Wikipedia. I agree that it is best to start off small and improve existing articles first, rather than create a new article while still in the learning stage. I really really appreciate your help with the work that was flagged for deletion. Their goal was to translate as many of the How-To documents for medical editing into Spanish in order to encourage more native Spanish speakers to participate and not be reliant in the English resources such as WP:MEDRS, WP:MEDMOS, the English Cochrane training resources, etc. If you have any other suggestions please let me know. My lack of ability to speak Spanish means that I cannot contribute very much or help moderate any of this work. @BellBM25, Gabriela.Vill y Kapesa96: I am adding you here as well so you can following this conversation. Let's keep chatting on the medical project talk page though, in case there are more medical editors on Spanish Wikipedia who may be looking to collaborate. Thank you again!
